ABOUT HORSE POWERTRAIN

Horse Powertrain is a global leader in innovative, low-emission hybrid and combustion powertrain solutions, supporting automotive manufacturers with a range of systems including engines, transmissions, power electronics, range extenders, and integrated hybrids.

Horse Powertrain operates between traditional Tier 1 suppliers and automakers, effectively serving as a system integrator. The company specializes in advanced combustion and hybrid technologies designed for seamless integration into existing vehicles and platforms, enabling OEMs to outsource complex powertrain development to a dedicated specialist while accelerating time to market and reducing capital expenditure.

Horse Powertrain was formed as a joint venture between Renault Group’s powertrain entity (Horse Technologies) and Geely Auto’s powertrain entity (Aurobay Technologies). Both Horse Technologies (holding in Spain) and Aurobay Technologies (holding in China) are regional divisions of Horse Powertrain.

Horse Powertrain provides a full suite of powertrain capabilities, including initial R&D, independent test facilities, product innovation and manufacturing. Horse Powertrain provides customers with comprehensive powertrain solutions that leverage the capabilities of its products and seamlessly integrate with customers’ existing vehicles. This approach removes many system integration challenges facing automakers, allowing them to focus on differentiators, such as design, software, and electrification.

Horse Powertrain’s three shareholders are the Renault Group (45%), Geely (45%), and Aramco (10%).

Horse Powertrain’s global headquarters are based in London, with the regional office for Horse Technologies based in Madrid and regional office for Aurobay Technologies located between Gothenburg and Hangzhou Bay. Horse Powertrain has a global presence with operations in Europe, China, and South America.

Horse Powertrain has operations in Europe, China, and South America, and employs circa 19,000 people across 18 plants and five R&D centers around the world.

Horse Powertrain is not a Chinese company, but rather is an independent global organization, headquartered in London and with a presence around the world, which includes a footprint in Europe, South America and China.

Horse Powertrain currently has 25 customers, including the Renault Group, Geely Auto, Volvo Cars, Proton, Nissan, and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation.

Horse Powertrain develops a wide range of advanced powertrain technologies for automakers worldwide. Its portfolio includes internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, transmissions, and range extender systems designed for passenger vehicles and light commercial applications. Horse Powertrain also develops other related technologies designed to improve efficiency in ICE and hybrid powertrains, including its amorphous motor and turbulent jet ignition systems.

The X-Range series is Horse Powertrain’s family of compact hybrid and range extender technologies designed to help OEMs convert existing battery electric vehicle (BEV) platforms into HEV, PHEV, or REEV applications with minimal structural changes. The series includes the C15 Direct Drive, F15 Direct Drive, and C15 systems.

Horse Powertrain develops pure ICE, hybrid, and range extender systems compatible with a broad range of fuel technologies, including traditional fuels, as well as synthetic fuels, biofuels such as ethanol and methanol, and hydrogen-capable solutions.

Horse Powertrain is unique in the field in which it operates; similar to a Tier 1 but operating as a pure ICE, hybrid, and range extender specialist. Horse Powertrain supports automotive manufacturers with a range of systems including engines, transmissions, power electronics, range extenders, and integrated hybrids.
