HORSE POWERTRAIN AT THE 2025 INTERNATIONAL VIENNA MOTOR SYMPOSIUM

The International Vienna Motor Symposium gathers global thought leaders and key decision-makers from the automotive industry for three days of groundbreaking lectures, panel discussions and events. The focus is on sustainable energy and solutions for the mobility of tomorrow, with a keynote speech from our CEO, Matias Giannini. Speakers from Horse Powertrain will be presenting at three further sessions during the symposium.

To illustrate the ways in which we’re bringing our vision of a more sustainable future to life with flexible, integrated solutions, we’re showcasing two exciting products at our exhibition booth.

We’re also exhibiting two of our low-emissions engines projects in collaboration with Aramco – one will be at the Aramco booth, and the other will be installed in a car exhibited in the outdoor area.

The Symposium is held at the Hofburg Conference Centre, Vienna.
Our booth is in the first hall on the right-hand side of the entrance.

The Symposium is the perfect setting for us to share our innovative approach to making more sustainable mobility available to all, integrating solutions and reinventing hybrid technologies to accelerate the industry-wide transition to net zero.

With its compact, lightweight design, Horse Powertrain’s 1.0l, 3-cylinder range extender is a packaging-friendly, high power density unit that can deliver 70kW of continuous power. It is capable of running on flex fuel up to E100.

  • Weight 135kg
  • Continuous Power 70kW @ 3500rpm
  • Max output power: 86kW@5250rpm (petrol) – 92kW@5250rpm (E100)
  • Max output torque: 200Nm@2900rpm (petrol) – 220Nm@2900rpm (E100)
  • Fuel type: petrol/E100

The Modular Gasoline Engine is the result of a strong collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Aurobay Technologies, a division of Horse Powertrain. The modularity of the engine allowed us to redevelop only a few components – such as intake, cooling, and fuel systems, mounting oil pan and transmission – to adapt the engine to fit in a new packaging and installation.

Paired with Horse Powertrain's 3DHT160 Hybrid Transmission, it represents a cost-effective travel solution with great drivability and the feel of an EV.

  • Weight 117kg
  • Max output power: 140kW@5500rpm
  • Max output torque: 300Nm@2000–3000rpm
  • Max RPM: 6300
